AnyPS5 is an open-source project that converts PS5 executables into host-system programs and supplies replacement libraries for the system services they use. This guide helps you look up a game, find official downloads and prepare a conversion on your PC.
Start with the AnyPS5 game checker to choose a game and your operating system. For a broader look at the reported results, browse AnyPS5 games.
How AnyPS5 works
The project has three main parts. Its architecture documentation explains how they fit together:
- The relinker prepares the executable. It reads a clean ELF and bundled modules, resolves the expected imports and produces the target system's executable format. Windows output is a PE file; Linux output is an ELF.
- Replacement libraries handle system calls. The converted program calls native implementations of the console libraries it expects, including memory, file, input and audio services. These libraries sit in the game's
libs/directory. - The graphics code handles GPU work. Shader recompilation produces SPIR-V for the host Vulkan driver, alongside the handling of resources, texture formats, memory and synchronization.
From the executable and bundled modules to the host program, replacement libraries and game resources.
Which games are worth looking into?
Animal Well has a Windows gameplay and audio report. PAC-MAN WORLD Re-PAC reaches a level on a main revision, with the level-complete transition still open. The DOOM homebrew has basic gameplay reports and a separate patched run with audio and save/reload checks.
Larger titles are at different stages: Demon's Souls reaches a title screen on a reviewed main build; Astro Bot has a short interactive Crash Site test on a private integration; Gran Turismo 7 has Music Rally work on a separate branch. The AnyPS5 games page helps you compare those results and their remaining problems.
Prepare a matched set of files
The walkthrough uses v0.1.2, with Windows and Linux relinkers and target library packages. Keep the executable, libraries and instructions from the same release. The AnyPS5 GitHub guide shows where to find them and how releases differ from newer source builds.
You also need a clean ELF, accompanying modules and game resources you have the rights to use. Follow AnyPS5 setup and check AnyPS5 requirements before starting. If a launch stops, use AnyPS5 troubleshooting to investigate the first useful error. For a browser-based option, read AnyPS5 web converter.
